A botanical mixed-media work inspired by the Grand Palace in Bangkok, built up in oil paint, lace, gold leaf and modelling paste. The layering of textures — soft lace pressed into raised modelling paste, gold leaf catching the light against paint - gives the piece a tactile, almost sculptural quality, botanical form rendered with the ornamentation of a place built for it.
