An open-form ceramic chainmail ring in sandy stoneware, made to be draped across a flat surface, hung as a single ring, or combined with others to form new shapes. Rachel Karasik is a ceramic artist based in Hastings, whose path to clay wound through food, anthropology and social innovation before she returned to her own practice as a way of rebuilding a slower, more balanced life. That patience sits in the work - drawn to the physicality and repetition of the material, each piece carries the quiet, considered pace of its making.
Details: Sandy stoneware. 44cm in length when hung from a single ring.
